It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Parbati Shrikishun also known as Tanman. Parbati was born on 31, 1935 in Canal No.2, Guyana to parents Cyril and Marta. She was the eldest of 11 siblings; Alvin, Phyllis, Jerry, Jean, Marilyn, Winston and the late Alice, Eunice, Margaret and Pooran. Parbati and the late Bidisi Somai had their children Doris, Rudy, Doraine, Paul, Michael, Raja, and Rajen.
She lived in Guyana for 47 years and migrated to Canada in November of 1982 with her family. She lived in Toronto and Vaughan, Ontario while in Canada. Parbati’s family grew and she welcomed her 10 grandchildren; Anand, Devo, Sarah, Kristine, Anthony, Cynthia, Sabrina, Marissa, Christopher, and Kevin. She was fortunate to also meet her 6 great grandchildren Priya, Annalise, Ansil, Selena, Adrian, and Mirina.
She passed peacefully at the age of 89 surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered by all for her strength, intelligence and generosity.
