Mahdai Kalli, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 17th at the age of 87.

Born on November 25th, 1937, in Guyana, Mahdai was a woman of wisdom and kindness. She was always offering a listening ear, a warm embrace and a heart full of love to even the animals and birds that surrounded her, especially her favorite parrot Lori.

Mahdai was married to Ashton for 64 years. Their marriage was a partnership, built on unwavering love and dedication. In her later years, as she faced illness, Ashton remained by her side, caring for her with tenderness and devotion ensuring that she was surrounded by comfort, dignity and the warmth of family, until his untimely death a mere nineteen days ago.

She was the proud mother of Andrew (Sandra), Indira (Vern) and Indra and an adoring grandmother to Diana, Lisa, Riana, Tanya (Rush), Tracy and Ryan. She was the great grandmother of Ari and Sophia.

She was the sister of Clement, Juliet, Mary, Vicky, Patricia, and the late Roopchand, the late Manu and the late Pearly. Mahdai is also survived by her extended family and friends in Canada, the US, Trinidad and Guyana.

She has been a long time and faithful patron at Faith Lutheran Church in North York, Ontario.

Though she may no longer be with us in person, her legacy of love, strength and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her ♥♥♥
