When we learned of Terry’s unexpected passing, Rohan said “Terry was a cool guy”
Memories for me came flooding back when I was reflecting on the times I spent with Terry or whenever I saw him.
The Terry I always saw was someone who was always smiling and was happy to be among company esp. family.
When I think of him, there’s a song that’s called - For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow…which nobody can deny – that comes to my mind.
So while this loss is hard to come to grips with, I hope Terry will be at peace at last as he’s reunited with his loving mum. Farewell Terry

Thank you all for being here to express your goodbye to Terry and to offer support to his family and friends. My name is Sukoo Janak and I will be speaking on behalf of our family, my brothers and sisters: Gibbs, Betty, Bachoon, Raj, Annie, Hilya, Johnny, Mala, Mukesh and Saroop and their family and of course my family.
Terry is our nephew from our late sister, Hilya, and she really loved and cared for him. He was her pride and joy. During grade school, he was an excellent student with high aspirations while my sister provided him with tutoring and guidance as he persist. Terry’s persistence and excellent grades provided exceptional pride for my sister’s emotional health and wellness. And we love him for that.
But he was more than a nephew, he was all of our son. As a child, he brought a lot of joy to my sister Mala and Mukesh when they emigrated to Toronto and unfortunately lost all their play friends back home.
And then Terry and his mother, Hilya, emigrated to Connecticut and once again, he brought more joy to my other Sister Betty, and her family who loved and cared very much for Terry.
He also lived with us in Maryland for a few years where he had lots of friends and cousins that he hung and bonded with
We all loved Terry, he was a very funny guy with an infectious laughter. Every time we were around Terry, he treated us like best friends, instead of his uncles, aunts or cousins. He always made us laugh at his funny jokes and stories. He always made an effort to see us whenever we visited Ontario . And we will now cherish those special moments.
And Finally, Terry was an extraordinary and terrific young man. Unfortunately, like our family, he lost his mom at a very young age of 16 and his heart was broken. Nevertheless , he wanted and fought hard for independent living, and with a little bit of help from my sister Mala, he found that independence in his birth place here in Ontario .
Terry, We will miss you dearly , and we are grateful for the time we had with you.

Dearest Uncle Terry,
Your visits to Connecticut were always fun. There was never a dull moment when you were with me. There was always something to talk about and bond together over. I remember when you visited me in Connecticut one weekend and helped my mom and I make fried chicken and we watched some NFL playoff football. It was such a good day. The last time I visited you in Canada two years ago was a little more fun because we were able to enjoy some nice hot curry and rice that Aunty Mala and Uncle Raymond prepared and we just talked about life and all of the good times. God bless you Terry, you will be missed dearly by all. You truly made us all feel good. We love you.

We are heartbroken over losing you. There was so much more for you to enjoy on this Earth and so much more in life that we looked forward to sharing with you. Words cannot express how deeply sadden we are by your loss. You were the best Cousin, Uncle and Brother all at the same time.
