It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Boodny Bhagwandin, also known as Zeena, on July 8, 2025 at Hospice Vaughn at the age of 71. She passed away peacefully and surrounded by those she loved and will remain in the hearts of both friends and family.

Boodny was born on August 4, 1953 in Tuschen Guyana.

She is survived by her loving husband, Patel Bhagwandin, and her three children (Ravi, Meena/Nalini, and Sunil) along with their respective spouses, all of whom she loved deeply. She will be remembered for her kindness, bright smile, and her deep love for her family, serving as a proud grandmother to her 5 grandchildren. She is survived by her dear four sisters and younger brother. Her loving spirit extended far beyond her family, embracing those in her community as she would her in-laws, nieces, nephews, and siblings with the same kindness and care that defined her life.

Boodny was a woman of deep Hindu faith, living with extreme grace and devotion to her religion and exemplifying her beliefs through her actions in life. Her spirituality guided her through life’s highs and lows with unwavering optimism and a loving heart.

Her immaculate strength in the face of illness was astounding, and the family would love to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Etobicoke General Hospital and Hospice Vaughn for their exceptional care, as well as to all friends and loved ones that visited and gave her strength with their love and prayers. 

Her life embodied the values of family, love, and unwavering kindness. Boodny’s presence lit up any room she was in and she was a great blessing in our lives, her absence will be felt and she will be deeply missed. 

Though her physical presence is no longer with us, Boodny will continue to live on in the hearts of the many souls she touched with kindness throughout her life. She will forever be remembered for her kind heart, faith, and love so freely given to all.
