Daniel was born and raised in Toronto to Jose and Ana Paula Barbosa. He had an older sister, Amanda Barbosa. Together they built a life that was happy, safe and full of love. They would go on many road trips and liked exploring new things.

Daniel was a happy child and had a passion for soccer already at such a young age. One of his dreams was to play professionally. He also loved riding his bike and hanging with his friends.

He is deeply missed by his mother, his sister and is reunited with his father, who passed in 2016.

Daniel met Jessica Gobin his partner in 2021 and they shared a deep bond and together they had a beautiful son, Lucas, who was the joy of Daniel’s life. He was a loving and playful father, whether kicking a soccer ball or splashing in the water, Daniel cherished every moment with his little boy. His love for Lucas was pure, and being a father brought out some of the best parts of him.

Though Daniel faced struggles in his life, those closest to him knew his true self, funny, caring, passionate, and full of love. Jessica loved him deeply and stood by him throughout his journey no matter the ups and downs. Life wasn’t always easy, but beneath the pain and hardship was someone who wanted to be good, to love, and to be loved in return.

Daniel's story is one of both joy and struggle, but above all, it is one of love, for his family, his son, and the many people whose lives he touched.

He will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, and the love he leaves behind in his beautiful son, Lucas.
