It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Chitranjan Bajnauth, affectionately known as Walter, on July 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He left this world with content and knowing he was loved.

Walter was born on May 5, 1940, in Number 64 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana, where he spent his early years building a life grounded in hard work, humility, and strong family values.

In 1978, Walter immigrated to Canada, later living and working in New York for six years before returning to Canada in 1986. In 1997, he moved once again to the United States, where he lived for four years before settling back in Canada in 2001, retiring and spending his remaining years in Etobicoke, surrounded by family.

On March 5, 1962, Walter married the love of his life, Roheni Bajnauth (maiden name, Balkarran), affectionately known as Lovelyn. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, family, and unwavering commitment.

He was a devoted grandfather to Richard, Warren, Natasha, Megan, Timothy, Aaron, Ashney, Brandon, Crystal, Nicholas, ChristianCameron and Brianna, and a proud great-grandfather to twelve great-grandchildren (Danny, Christian jr., Jaxton Luis, Analeia, Isabella, Isla, Braesyen, Brooklyn, Victoria, Alexander, William and Wayne) who brought him immense joy and pride.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife Roheni, his children: Diana (married to Roy), Aruna (Alex), Anthony (married to Seeta) and Anil, grandchildren (stated above), great-grandchildren (stated above) and his siblings (Helen, Rose, Picken, Dino, Deo, Indra, and Angela), and a large extended family.

His legacy of love, quiet strength, and generosity will live on in the many lives he touched. He will be remembered always with deep affection and respect.
