Obituary of Dhanesari Singh
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dhanesari (Pearly) Singh, who departed this life on August 16, 2025 in Toronto, Canada, at the age of 101.
Dhanesari was born on February 27, 1924, in Stewartville, West Coast Demerara, Guyana, the beloved daughter of the late Ganga and Babe Persaud.
She was the devoted wife of the late Harkishun (Harry) Singh, with whom she built a life grounded in love, family, and faith. Together they raised a family that became her pride and joy.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Dolly, Maylene, Patricia, Pamela, Chabilall [aka. Chubby] (Loretta), Rameshwar [aka. Ralph] (Geeta), and George. She is predeceased by her son, Jhadobance (James) Singh.
Dhanesari is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and her brother Gokul (Richard) Persaud. She was predeceased by her brothers Ganesh (George) Persaud and Narsinghdeo (Calvin) Persaud.
Her life was one of quiet strength, compassion, and devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her wisdom, kindness, and the love she gave so generously.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. at Lotus Funeral and Cremation Centre. The funeral and cremation service will take place on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
