Savita Raishi Opal November 24, 1945 - August 30, 2025 (79 Years)
Savita Raishi Opal was born on November 24, 1945 in Mombassa, Kenya to an Indian Jain business family. From the moment she was born, she was full of life and energy. She was a kind, generous and hospitable individual, who loved to entertain and make people feel at home. She always put her family first, even ahead of herself at times. She would always stand up and fight for justice and fairness. Her life had some difficulties along the way, but one thing is for sure, it was full of excitement and colour.
Her life may have started in Mombassa, but her journey in life took her to Bombay, for her studies, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Baroda, to London, England to reunite with her own family, to Toronto where she built a home and spent most of her life, and finally to Las Vegas where she built a beautiful life full of entertainment, shows, and of course gambling.
She was strong willed and strong minded. She always dreamt of living in the US and to be an American. Her wish came true when she earned her US citizenship in the early 2000’s. Living in Las Vegas she made some lifelong friendships that brought immense joy and happiness to her. Those friendships continue on through her family members.
She was a registered nurse by profession. One of the highlights and most exiting points in her career was when she decided to do travel nursing and work across the US, while exploring the country side and its natural beauty. Savita travelled to places like Oregon, California, Texas, and Washington state, to name a few. Savita and her husband Rajindar really enjoyed this period of their lives together.
Savita Opal passed away peacefully at 7:05PM on Saturday, August 30th while staying at the Dorothy Ley Hospice in Etobicoke, Ontario. She leaves behind her husband of 55 years Rajindar Opal. Her daughter Seema Opal. Her son Rajat Opal and daughter-in-law Elsa Bedoya, and her grandson Milan Chetan Opal, who was truly the apple of her eye, and whom she loved deeply, dearly and profoundly.
Savita will forever live in our hearts and minds. She will never be forgotten. And she will never walk alone. Rest in peace Mom, and may God bless your soul from now until eternity.
