Obituary of Samuel Augustus Niles

Samuel Augustus Niles, affectionately known as Orin, was born on February 10, 1954, in Georgetown, Guyana. He passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 71, surrounded by his wife and children in Brampton, Ontario.

Orin was the son of the late Jerome and Rosaline Niles and the fifth of nine children.

In his youth, Orin farmed the land. He was deeply connected to the soil and the seasons, and he learned early about giving back more than you take. Those lessons stayed with him for life. After immigrating to Canada in 1994, he continued to live by those values. He was both a dedicated machine operator and an entrepreneur, working tirelessly to provide for his family. He was a man whose love was shown through action, sacrifice, and presence.

Orin was known for his steady presence and his generous spirit. He stood tall, carried responsibility, and showed up when it mattered. Even through illness, he fought to return to his family and to give them more time. His strength and determination will always be remembered.

He was always proud of his children. He reminded them often to do good; always try your best; and protect each other. These words shaped the way he lived and the way he wanted his family to live.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann, his daughters, Marcia, Teresa, and Chavon. He was a proud grandfather to Ishaan, Austin, and Jiyaan, who were his world. And he will be lovingly remembered by his son in law Nav.

Orin’s legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren and in the lessons he passed down: to stand tall, to work with purpose, to give generously, and to care for your people. His earthly journey has ended, but his love and example will remain with those he leaves behind.
