In Loving Memory
The gentle soul of our beloved father passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love and presence of his cherished family.
Born in Dasuya, India, into a lively household of seven brothers, he remained steadfast throughout his life in his values of simplicity, compassion, and quiet strength. He embraced diversity with grace and loved unconditionally, without judgment.
A graduate of BITS Pilani with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he embarked on a remarkable journey with his new bride and young family—living and working in Labrador City, Canada; San Juan, Peru; and Bonao, Dominican Republic—before ultimately planting roots in Ontario, Canada.
He was known by all for his infinite patience, steady and gentle demeanor, delightful sense of humour, and unwavering dedication to his family, faith, and community. Anyone who crossed his path felt his calming aura.
Throughout his youth and adulthood, he excelled in track and field, soccer, and tennis. Even after retiring at 70, he poured himself into acts of service: as a disciplined sous chef and gardener for his beloved wife, and as a tireless community volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Durham Community Services—efforts that earned him several well-deserved recognitions.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Kusum Lata Mehta; his loving daughters, Anu (Pavneet), Anju (Neel), and Tishya (Rohit); and his adored grandchildren: Vidya (Sagar), Gautam (Kiran), Maya, Asha, Aasher, and Ayla. He is also survived by his beloved younger brother, Shashi (Madhu).
His legacy of love, quiet resilience, and service lives on in each of us.
