Obituary of Roopnauth Singh

Roopnauth Singh, 76, of Thornhill, Ontario, passed away on September 29,
2025, in Newmarket, Ontario.
Visitation will be held at Lotus Funeral and Cremation Center on October 3, 2025, from 6-8pm.
Funeral service will be held at Lotus Funeral and Cremation Center on October 4, 2025, at 7am.
Cremation will follow at Lotus Funeral and Cremation Center. 
Roopnauth was born in Success, Leguan Guyana to Sidhari and Chanrasie Singh on November
30, 1948. He immigrated to the United States in 1969 and subsequently to Canada 1971. He
graduated from the telecommunications program from Conestoga College in 1977. His career
spanned several decades across the telecommunications, financial services, public sector,
logistics and food processing industries. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening. In his
retirement and was involved in charitable organizations.
Roopnauth is survived by his wife, Savitree; his son Robert; daughter-in-law Maya; grandson
Jacob; and siblings Johnny, James, Charlie, Lachmin, Khaim, Amar and Lynette. He is preceded in
death by his father Sidhari, mother Chanrasie and sister Ramdai.
