Hiroo Sajandas Advani Obituary

In Loving Memory of Hiroo Sajandas Advani

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Hiroo Sajandas Advani on November 1,

2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on October 8, 1939, in Sind, Pakistan, Hiroo lived a full and remarkable life defined by wisdom,

humor, and warmth. In 1972, he made the bold decision to immigrate from Mumbai to Toronto - a move

that would become one of the most defining chapters of his life. With courage and optimism, he built a

beautiful life in Canada, rooted in family, friendship, and community.

Hiroo spent many years working in the banking industry, known for his honesty and reliability, but his true

joy came from the life he built outside of work. He was a man of intellect and curiosity - an avid reader

who could often be found flipping through the Toronto Star over breakfast or immersed in a Stephen King

novel. A true renaissance man, he balanced thoughtfulness with charisma, always ready with a story, a

joke, or a smile that lit up the room.

Generous by nature, Hiroo supported many causes close to his heart, including the Canadian Red Cross,

Wildlife Conservation Society Canada, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

He will be remembered most as the life of the party and the pillar of his family - the glue that held

everyone together. Hiroo was endlessly proud of his family, especially his daughter and granddaughters,

who were the joys of his life.

Hiroo is survived by his loving wife Sumetra, his devoted daughter Shashi, his supportive son-in-law Lal,

and his beloved granddaughters Karishma (partner Jas) and Shania, as well as his many friends and

extended family who will miss him dearly.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Lotus

Funeral & Cremation Centre, 121 City View Drive, Toronto.

A Shanthi Path will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sindhi

Gurmandir Temple, 207 Queens Plate Drive, Etobicoke.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Canadian Lung Association or any of Hiroo’s favourite

charities.

Hiroo will be remembered for his laughter, generosity, and unshakable love for his family. His presence

made every room brighter and his spirit will live on in all those who were lucky enough to know him.
