Rajdai "Nita" Rajcoomar (1949–2025)

Rajdai Rajcoomar, known affectionately as "Nita," passed away peacefully on
November 10th, 2025 in Toronto, Canada, at the age of 76. Nita was the loving heart and true matriarch of her expansive family, leaving behind a legacy of fierce devotion and quiet strength.

Born in Guyana, Nita immigrated to Canada and lived the vast majority of her life in Toronto. A woman of keen intellect, Nita loved mathematics and was an avid, lifelong reader. She began her professional life as a dedicated teacher and later transitioned into a successful career as a Transport Planning Data Specialist, demonstrating her adaptability and sharp analytic skills.

Nita was the catalyst and true underpinning of her family, serving as an unwavering source of guidance and support for multiple generations. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, Sujay and Jayani, and she is now reunited with her beloved and only child, the late Nadine.

A Life of Family and Community

Nita was predeceased by many siblings: brothers Ramtohall, Ramballi, and Son-Son; and sisters Dhatta, Shattie, Ramratti, and Deokey.

She is survived by her loving brothers: Babso (Vidi) and Deo; and her cherished sisters: Sabo (Roop), Somo (Sewah), and Choti. Nita's generous spirit and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings, grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and the entire community she touched through her involvement.
