Obituary of Vedi Singh
Vedwatee (Vedi) Singh passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. She maintained her strength and bravery as she faced her final days battling cancer. Vedi is predeceased by her husband, Suryaram and her brothers, Kenneth, Cecil and Joe.
Vedi's life was blessed with love, which she shared with her children, Indrani, Abhyankar (Kimberly) and Akaash, her grandchildren, Stephan (Alex) and Claudia, as well as her sister-in-laws, Jean and Radicka, her many nieces and nephews and their families. She valued her friendships from childhood to the friends she made through work and her community.
True to her name, Vedi enjoyed learning, especially from books, making her well suited for her work at the Toronto Public Library and the Ontario Legislative Library. She enjoyed biographies, silver screen movies and especially politics.
She will be missed for her many virtues, including her kindness, her strength, her sympathetic ear, and her sage advice.
Visitation: Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral and Cremation on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. To 1:00 p.m.
