Leelawatti (Leela) Rooplal passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on May 2, 2020. She was surrounded by her husband and daughters and was chanting God’s name.
Leela will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 49 years, Krishna, her daughters Asha (Alan), Savi and Visha (Wesley). She was a loving Nani to two beautiful grandchildren, Keeran and Janani.
Born to Toolsie and Rajah Soondarsingh on December 24, 1947, Leela will be fondly remembered by her siblings Indra (Clarence), Vijay (Jeanne), Bhisham (Ingrid), Ranjit (Carol) and Mala (Joe) and many, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Leela was predeceased by her sisters Vidya and Barbara (Roodal).
Leela was a devout Hindu and an active member of many temples. She always believed in community service and was a volunteer at the Credit Valley Hospital for over 10 years.
