Please see the following link for more information https://thebao.ca/registrars-directive-10-max-or-less-in-the-entire-funeral-home-at-one-time/ Our Mother, Satie, was a phenomenal woman and a vibrant soul that walked the earth. Our world stopped for a moment hearing of her tragic death. Though burdened by sadness, we continue to reflect with gratitude for everything she has done for us, her four children, Beatrice, Devika, Wanita and Rennie. She loved us from the depths of her soul, and made tremendous sacrifices for us throughout her life. Growing up wasn’t always easy, because as a single mother, she juggled the demands of us all, while she successfully managed and operated her business in a male dominated world. She maintained a no nonsense personality that was feared by some, and welcomed by others. Despite the tough exterior, our Mother had a genuine and kind heart, she never turned anyone away, be it family, friends or strangers. She brought many under her wings and provided them with support, guidance and encouragement to succeed. Mommy loved Life and had so many plans ahead for her and her family. She instilled and demonstrated to us that we cannot achieve anything in life, without working hard and smart for it. Mommy had an unwavering supported for us; she stood in the gap between the unknown and the known. She was also known for her abilities to tell colourful and comedic stories, that would elicit laughter and enliven others. Her nurturing personality ensured that everyone around her was protected and well fed - even if it were from the same bowl. Our Mother was born in Essequibo, and was raised in Georgetown. She absolutely loved Guyana, the freedom of being independent and connected to her roots gave her a sense of Divine Knowingness. Hence, she travelled frequently to avoid the cold winter months in Canada. She leaves behind her four children, ten grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, many nieces and nephews (including those in Georgetown, East Coast, Berbice, Canada and the U.S.), cousins and aunts. Mommy, we Thank you for EVERYTHING you have done for us, and the profound impact you have made in our lives. We will continue to live by your principles.
