Dr. Ben has been a part of our family for many years. When the weather was nice, he would drive out and make sure we all had our flu shots every season without fail. We all so looked forward to his visits. Probably one of the most caring people I have ever met. Throughout our life we have all written quite a few pages from what we have learned and our experiences and collected them in our personal book of life. For me, part of who I am, I have learned from friends and family members growing up. Dr. Ben, was a great listener and enjoyed learning new things. He also knew the best way to learn was to listen. I remember one time I was working on my car with the hood up during one of his visits. He was fascinated with all the workings of the car engine. With my limited knowledge, while describing some of the parts and how they worked, Dr. Ben reached in to point at something. Although he knew the engine was running, he didn't see the fan blades turning and his fingers went into the blades. He looked at the damage to his fingers, made a quick assessment then put his hand behind his back and asked me to continue with my description. When I was done, and only when I was done would he go inside to tend to his cut fingers. He put more importance in learning and listening than his own pain and injury. In my book of life, I am honored to have him as part of my story. Dr. Ben, although your last chapter has been written, you will forever live on in ours. Rest in peace my friend.
