I offer my sincerest condolences to the Persaud family. Nalini, it is with heavy heart to realize that you won’t be able to greet me with your signature smile and hug once I return to work. You had been an amazing colleague, mentor and friend. Your sense of humour will be sorely missed and the advice you gave will forever be treasured. You had been a great partner for the past decade and I am saddened to know that has ended. But it is your friendship that I will miss the most. Forever your friend ❤️Nikki

Dearest Christian and Gabby, your mother was so proud of you guys, she was always talking about you and showing of your achievements to us the work family, even though you might not know us but we were silent cheerleaders of all you accomplished because you had a wonderful mother who was so proud of you both, you were her heart and soul, there is nothing in world that will fill the void she left for you both, but do know that wherever she is, she loves you and she would want you to accomplished moon and stars and fill your lives with love and laughter that she was known for, remember her in every big accomplishment you achieve and we hope you achieve many, may God ease your pain and strengthen your hearts.

A friend, a colleague, a mentor, and most of all, a maternal figure, are only some of the many roles Nalini played in my life. Being met with Nal's radiant smile 7 years ago on my very first day in the NICU at Humber Finch site is a memory that will forever be etched in my heart. She was a woman who radiated warmth and kindness, touching the lives of everyone she met. Her smile, laugh, and boisterous personality will be sorely missed. I am eternally thankful for everything she has taught me, both in work and in life, and will forever cherish the memories I have with and of her. May you rest in perfect peace, beautiful. I will forever love you and miss you <3. -Minie

Nalini, I just want to start by dedicating and saying to her: Thank-you, for your unwavering support and love and affirmation through the years. I never thought a day when you weren't a quick text or call away would come, and come so quickly. My heart hurts so much to know you are gone. Nalini was my very first preceptor and mentor when I graduated from nursing school and started working. Honestly I attribute a lot of my success now to her. When I came out of nursing school I never thought working in the NICU with babies was something I wanted to do. I was so lucky to start my career at Humber River and especially so because I met her. Warmth and care permeated everything she did in her work. She made me fall in love with NICU nursing. I can still hear her in the back of my mind saying "LIV!! Of course you can do it! You're so smart!" And she was always so proud of me, bragging that she trained me and that she was only going to accept new orientees like me. This was especially true when I left to work at Sinai. And I was so scared then, leaving a unit where I was just getting comfortable but she just wouldn't hear it and pushed me to do it anyway. She was the work mom I didn't know I needed. And just like with my own parents, in my mind, she was immortal... so what do you mean she's gone? I can hardly believe it. And if I can hardly believe it and if I hurt, I can't imagine the pain her family feel. To the Persaud family, I am so sorry. You have my deepest condolences. Nalini was truly a beautiful soul. Her positivity and genuine kindness struck me both as a burgeoning nurse and as a person. This is what I will remember forever about her. Thank-you Nalini, for touching my life with your light. I miss you. I hope you are at peace. Rest in absolute paradise. Love always, your Livie Loo.

I first met Nalini at the Church site as she worked in the mother baby unit and I the Birthing unit. I always loved to see her, as Nalini was always upbeat, spunky and had a radiant smile. She was so easy to talk to and always made me feel comfortable. One of my last memories was her talking at length about her children and how proud she was of them. Nalini you will be greatly missed. Nalini was my friend and colleague since 2004. I looked up to her as a nurse and a mother. She adored her children and was incredibly proud of them. They were her pride and joy. I remember her always talking to my belly everyday when I was pregnant with my own kids, and sharing her wisdom and prayers with her soft and comforting voice. Nalini, I hope you know how many people love you and how many lives you’ve touched. I will miss you, but will keep our many memories in my heart, forever.
