GILL, Surjit Singh
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Surjit Singh Gill at the age of 79 on February 18, 2021. He is predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Parmpal Kaur Gill (June 2019), and is survived by his sons Harinderjit/Min (Brenda) of Barrie, Ontario and Ravinder/Rick (Lindsay) of Keswick, Ontario. Loving grandfather to Jadyn and Brogan. Survived by his sister Charanjit (Ajmer) Samra of Brampton, Ontario and brother Harbans (Rani) Gill of Mississauga, Ontario. Predeceased by his brother Saranjit (Raminder) Gill of Vancouver, B.C. Together with our mom, dad owned the IGA store in Mount Albert, Ontario for 25 years and being the hard worker that he is, continued to work as a security guard well into his 70’s. Dad was unconditionally generous to many family members and friends. We will miss his unique character. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private memorial service will be held. Remembrance donations to Diabetes Canada or the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation would be most appreciated.
