From Herman Jagdeo and Family:
Respected Pandit, bereaved family, brothers and sisters ( For those who do not know me , I am Raymond Moonsammy Brother-in-law, Herman Jagdeo and very close with this family ). It is indeed a very sad moment for me and this family to lose a husband, a father, a grandfather, a father –in-law, but more so a good soul -- Uncle Chetram; as I know him. Your journey came to an abrupt end, you have reached your destination, you had a long and rewarding life and now starting a new one with your Maker, the Almighty God.
Today, Uncle has been liberated from that cycle of birth and death, his soul is transcending to a newer home. He had lived a very long life, creating a fruitful family tree that surround him tonight –Children and Grandchildren. One word that can truly described this extra ordinary Soul is Compassion !!! Yes Compassion . Let me rewind my own experience to validate that attribute of Uncle. It takes more than a normal person to maintain such personality and Uncle shows it in abundance . I can vividly recall when my father-in-law, William Moonsammy, may his soul rest in peace passed away five years ago, uncle postponed his significant 80th birthday to provide his relentless support to our family. He was there every night at the wake sharing his unique sense of humor and his adventurous life in Guyana. Uncle, we had so much laughs that I was worried that my father-in-law will come back to join us. And what a talented card and domino player he was. His famous line when you partner up with him was:
“Sit down na boy, they have to lift us out from here”. They were no match to his skills. On my daily drive home from work, especially on a very stressful and a snowy day, I will be calling him just to chat and what a purposeful discussion we will have. He is so informative and up to date with all the current affairs. I remembered during the recent Guyana Elections, he was so tune in to the latest developments, and my journey was an interesting one. Uncle, I will miss those sessions. Thanks for making me laugh so much.
Brothers and sisters, human life is extremely fragile, but sound values and just causes stand the test of time. No one can escape it. Uncle your name came up and you were selected by the Maker to join his Team in the Heavens. Death has a way of making us all equal and bringing us back to reality. We must all remember that our number is yet to be called and we must be prepared for it, no matter what your position in life is.
Our journey back home is a One-Way - ticket. Brothers and sisters everyone has their own perception of the End of their Time in this world, but rest assure it is a Guarantee Flight back to the Maker --when we are call to board and we must be prepared and ready. As the Great Country and Western Singer once wrote: THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME, I AM ONLY PASSING THROUGH (Death is CERTAIN BUT TIME IS OUR FEAR)
Uncle Chetram , Life is that Village wherein exists pleasure and pain, the Lord casts the dice and you were selected by the maker to join his kingdom. Your Family and friends will definitely miss you dearly.
The Universe operates according to the Lord’s desire, he receives you well, and he will be taking your soul to a resting place.
I will like to ask the Almighty God to show Mercy upon this family to handle this difficult period that he had given a very long, purposeful and meaningful life to a person that we are proud to call our Friend... whose extraordinary personality will long be lingered in our hearts.
Uncle Chetram, on behalf of My Family, the extended Moonsammy family and your dear friend Jerome , may you rest in peace with your New Keeper, The Almighty God.
To the bereaved family, our deepest and sincere condolences to you all, stay brave, have Faith, hope and courage only Time will be your healer …
