IN MEMORY OF
Prabha Rampersad
Passed: August 6th, 2021
Born: October 18th, 1938
Resided: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Prabha Rampersad, 82, of Toronto, Canada passed away on August 6th.
Prabha was pre-deceased by her parents Mahadaye and Birbal Ramkissoon from Trinidad. She is survived by her husband, Ramnarine Rampersad, her two sons, David and Darwin, her sister, Dolly Persad, her grandchildren, Arya, Talin and Kaira, her two daughters-in-law, Nita and Angela, 7 nieces, 5 nephews, 13 grand nieces and nephews and 3 great-grand nieces.
Prabha went to St Augustine High School in TT and left Trinidad in 1968. She arrived in Toronto where she started working for the Government and later for TD Bank. She left the work force upon the birth of her 1st child and did many years of volunteer service at the neighbourhood junior school that both of her sons attended. She then worked as a lunch room supervisor and eventually a teaching assistant at Humberwood Junior School until she was forced to retire because of her age.
Mom was a very kind, caring, generous, fun-loving person and loved to just “hang-out” with family and friends. She loved walking, having family picnics and outings, listening to CFRB Radio, sneaking a bite of sweet desserts, listening to or telling “spicy jokes” and watching General Hospital Daytime Soap religiously, every day since 1969. No one was allowed to call her during the show because she would not answer or respond!
It is hard to accept the death of a loved one. We all wish we had the power to make death go away from the face of the earth so that we never have to lose anyone dear to us, but sadly, death is inevitable. The death of a loved one leaves a huge void in our hearts that only time can heal, but our memories, past shared experiences and love will forever live in our hearts.
Rest In Peace.
We all love you, Prabha, MOM, Aunty, Grandma.
