Obituary of Ashley Barbara Simons

Please share a memory of Ashley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful Ashely Barbara Simons, she passed away in the embrace of family on Friday, October 1, 2021, after a long fight with Cystic Fibrosis she was just 33 years old. Ashley was born on December 10, 1987, Montreal, Quebec. From the moment she was born, her inner joy seemed to shine. Everyone loved her instantaneously. It’s easy to love babies, but the older Ashley grew, the more endearing people found her. Even when she was at her most visibly ill, she never had a shortage of friends who wanted to spend time with her. She lived a full and vibrant life. Ashley had a real love for food, her frequent visits to the hospital did not stop her from eating like a queen. I don’t know anyone else that was served lobster in a hospital! Ashley was appreciative of the doctors and other medical professionals who used their expertise to help make her comfortable during her stays at St. Michaels Hospital where she frequented the CF Adult Center and underwent double lung transplant in 2018. Ashley is survived by her loving parents, Tina, and Robert Simons, along with her brother Kyle and adoring nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 3:00pm. Live stream will be available on ZOOM, the meeting ID will be shared closer to the Memorial Day. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in their daughter’s honor.
