It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Seepersaud "Sonson" Gopi, while surrounded by his family, on Saturday November 6, 2021, at the age of 86.
Cherished and devoted husband of Shirley for 64 years, Sonson will be sadly missed by his 4 children: Rajnee (Jeet), Suruj (Krishna), Savitri (Govind) and Surindra (Reshma). He was a loving grandfather to: Nirvanny (Paul), Nadia (Donelle), Vik (Natasha), Travis, Anjali (Chait), Dave, Dave, Hansraj and Ryan; and a very proud Great-Grandfather to Olivia, Alexis, Manisha and Deepika.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Boodhoo & Georgina Gopie, as well as his younger brother Casey.
Sonson will be forever loved and fondly remembered by his sisters: Radica, Ouma, Sylvia and Chandra; his brothers Harry, Mohan, Jewan and Latch; his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
Born in Campbellville, Guyana on November 30, 1934, Sonson was the eldest of 10 children. He married his beloved wife in 1957 and together they raised 4 children. In 1987, Sonson moved to Toronto, Canada where he continued to build on his strong work ethic and family values.
Sonson loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends and engaging in lively conversations. His clever remarks and sound advice will be missed by all. His loved ones are grateful for the time spent and will never forget the lessons he taught. He leaves behind a legacy of love for his entire family
