Obituary of Inder Nath Sharma

**AS PER THE FAMILY’S WISHES, PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON THE “Send Flowers” TAB - in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the causes listed below.** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On January 6th, 2022, after ninety incredible years of life, Inder passed away peacefully at his home in Mississauga. Born and raised in Amritsar, India, Inder immigrated to Canada in 1967. It is here that he raised his family and leveraged his intellect and ambition to grow a small business into a thriving shoe empire. His success and vision as an entrepreneur was only surpassed by his philanthropic efforts, which ultimately became his greatest legacy. Inder's passion to empower others through education was demonstrated through the all-girls school he built in India and the number of educational scholarships given through the University of Toronto. His philanthropy also extended to the community through his donations and commitment to Trillium Health Partners and Vishnu Temple. Over his lifetime, Inder touched the lives of so many people and will be remembered as a successful entrepreneur, leader, and mentor. Known as a man of few words with the ability to distill the essence of his wisdom with profound impact. Inder was predeceased by his first wife Prabha and is survived by his children Kamal (Zahava) and Deepika (Andrzej); his loving wife, Rupi; his six beautiful grandchildren, Inder, Vikram, Naveen, Vijay, Maya, Ravi, and his step-children, Shalnee (Ben) and Raj (Laura) and his step grandchildren Shrey and Sameer. Due to current COVID -19 restrictions, the family will be having a private funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Aim for Seva @ aimforseva.ca/inder-sharma , or Trillium Health Partners @ Trilliumgiving.ca/inmemory (copy and paste the link in your browser to open the donations option directly.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please be advised about the temporary limitation of funeral services in GTA, as per the following link: https://thebao.ca/registrars-directive-bao-additional-restrictions-for-bereavement-sector/ Our building will be able to accommodate the following under these guidelines set out by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) and Public Health.
