Venky, as he was known at work, became a friend for me from the moment we met in year 2000. He was sincere, genuine, always sporting a smile with a positive attitude. He excelled at work, no matter what he was assigned to do. He never troubled himself or lamented about anything.

My earliest memory of Ramana mama is that of Dabri times- The afternoons he would try taking a nap and how Mansa n I would keeping giggling and talking. The most recent one was the phone conversation a week ago . He's been a part of my life since the beginning. Family and work were the two most important things for him and his commitment towards both sincere and strong. His smiling face is what inspires me to keep going and make life a better experience.

I am so very sorry for this unexpected, shocking loss. Raman uncle was always such a joy to be around; he was the very meaning of "life of the party" - he could make anyone crack a smile. I had the good fortune to hire “Venky” into Air Canada for the start of our New Delhi operations in 1993 as one of our Customer Service Supervisors, and was his GM there for 4 years. Venky was an outstanding colleague and mentor to our other employees and his peers. Always with a smile and enough energy for two people. He handled delayed flights as well as irate customers with a soft tone and was never frazzled. I think he took each event as a personal challenge to succeed at. And he did just that.
His decision to migrate to Canada must have been a momentous one personally and for his family. But again, he overcame any hurdles and succeeded with Air Canada and eventually as his own boss.
To Uma, Mansa and Rohan, may your memories of Venky and your dad be as full of joy and pride as the outpouring of the comments you will be reading and hearing about. Venky was an old soul, full of kindness and empathy.
I am lucky to have called him a colleague, you are even luckier to have had him as a husband and father.
May his memory be eternal.
