Our Loving Father Roopnarine Sharma LLB
Prominent Toronto Lawyer
REST IN ETERNAL PEACE
Oct 19th 1933 - Janurary 9th 2022
A Legend. An icon. A Compassionate Man A Humble Kind and Loving Man.
Dad was a remarkable man who constantly advocated for the betterment of the poor and disadvanged.
For over fifty years, as a brilliant legal mastermind, he challenged and engaged the legal system to advance the lives of marginized immigrants and refugees from around the world. He cleverly found ways to interpret the conventional definition of a refugee based on political and religious persecution. This resulted in the advancement of thousands of lives and changed the landscape of diversity in Canada.
Dad believed that the key to freedom was through education. He once told me that education and reading books is the most powerful tool to change your own life.
I will always remember him as a shining star to the glory of humanity.
