Subhash Chander Jain passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Dorothy Ley Hospice in Toronto, Canada on February 21st, 2022.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mrs. Suman Jain, his three children - Shalini, Rishi, and Nalini, his grandchildren Davin, Raea, Karina, Mira, and Luca. He is also leaving behind his three brothers, one sister, nieces and nephews.
Born in New Delhi, India, Subhash earned his MSc. in Statistics from Meerut University, where he was also Captain of the university cricket team. At age 25, he decided to join his brothers in Canada where he settled in Montreal and began a new chapter in his life. In 1976 Subhash married the love of his life, Suman. They lived in Montreal for 8 years until their move to Ontario in 1982 where they ultimately stayed.
Subhash was an avid sports fan who enjoyed both watching and playing. He was a member at a local tennis club, enjoyed going to the driving range and kicking around a soccer ball in the park. He loved the Habs, watching the Olympic games, and of course following the Indian cricket team. He was a very social person who loved being amongst friends and family, playing cards, and listening to old hindi songs and ghazals. He was extremely loved and will be dearly missed.
