Big Daddy: You were one in a million - humble, kind, loving and good at heart - never shows anger or hate.
We have so many memories of you in Bengal. The wonderful moments you shared with us will always be remembered. You were a great person and a blessing to many people.
You have accomplished many good things in life. You worked hard and always followed the path of honesty.
You have all your duties fulfilled. In your heart there was no Guilt....so you shall forever stay at ease and peace and in the Heavens above...RIP

The patriarch of the Pawaroo family, Mr Hardat Pawaroo, have departed but did not leave us, he will forever live in our hearts. We will cherish the great memories he left for the past 91 years. He was indeed a great example of a perfect son, brother, brother in law, father, father in law, grandfather, acting grandmother (to Nick and Jerry), uncle, cousin and most of all everyone’s best friend. I’m sure he’s with Mamee, Nana, Nanee his brothers and all his loved ones that left before him.
My fondest memory of him was when I was a little girl, whenever he sees me he have to pinch my cheeks and before I could say ouch, he reaches into his pocket and gives me money. Whenever he goes to Georgetown he will stop in by us at Golden Fleece and before he leaves he would empty his pocket of all the change he had and we would rush to our piggy bank and save it for Christmas. Then when we get together at Bengal he’s not happy until he cut the biggest watermelon and have all the kids finish it, same goes for the bananas, he would get the best bunch and we had to eat it to make him happy.
Now visiting his home at number 71 village we would first get candy from the shop, then there would be a big cooking competition between him and Mamee and we had to say who’s curry was the best. That was a tough decision because they were both good cooks. He treated or I should say spoiled his nieces and nephews like a grandparent spoil their grandchildren.
When he migrated to Canada and he learned how to take the bus to New York he would visit us in the summer and our children got attached to him and missed him when he couldn’t take the bus anymore. They called him Canada Nana.
Mamoo we will pray for your soul and I have no doubt that Lord Krishna have already granted you Moksha.

Big Mamoo as he was endearingly know to us was an immensely kind and affectionate uncle all through our lives. I was the luckiest of all, having spent my high school years in his wonderful household at #71 Village. There, in addition to formal education I had in him my role model for life. Weekends were always fun watching him play cricket for the village team or fishing for mullets on the shores of the Corentyne River and in the nearby marshy swamps where I first saw otters “water dogs”. One other thing that he cared nearly as much as he did for humans was garden plants. His phenomenal memory and curiosity throughout his long life have never ceased to amaze me, whether we talked about people, places, gardening or sports. His was a life to remember and to emulate. Ramchand and on behalf of all to whom you were “Big Mamoo”
