Obituary of Jyoti Gosine
Please share a memory of Jyoti to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jyoti Gosine, our loving & devoted grandmother, mother, sister & friend. Her last moments were spent surrounded by loved ones at St Michael's Hospital, on June 20th, 2022 until her departure, approximately 12:30am. She blessed many of us with 76 years of joyus memories that we will forever cherish.
She was born in the island of Trinidad & Tobago on July 10th, 1945. Daughter of Gildharie & Sumaria Rajnath. Growing up in California in Trinidad, she was the eldest sister of 7 siblings; Jiraj, Tara, Dulpatee, Maddan, Parbatee and the late Prakash.
Fast forward, she met her second love (her first was Bollywood), Mohan Gosine and lived in Princess Town for several years, before arriving to Toronto, Ontario. They became husband wife, and brought two boys in to the world, Darryl and Roulph Gosine.
From the island breeze of Trinidad to the winter wonderland of Canada, her sons blessed her with two daughter in-laws. Rani Gosine, the wife of Darryl, and Kay Gosine the wife of Roulph Gosine.
On May 16th, 1990, she became a grandmother. Her first grandchild, the late Kristina Gosine, daughter of Darryl and Rani Gosine. The family continued to expand, and before you knew it, she had a total of 6 grandkids including Kristina. Priya, Devanand & Seema Gosine, son and daughters of Roulph and Kay and, Dylan and Anjali Gosine, son and daughter of Darryl and Rani.
She was the epitome of strength, care and kindness and will forever be one of the largest puzzle pieces connecting our family. Forever and lovingly cherished by us all, we vow to remember all that she has done for us, and to celebrate her time and journey with us.
