Obituary of Harbans Singh Aujla
Please share a memory of Harbans to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Honorable relatives, friends and fellow human beings, I request that you accept my deep love and regards, as you hear these few words.
I was to tell you all, that throughout these 77 years, I have lived a very simple life in my own style. I must give due respect to my nearest and dearest. I have respected even those persons also, whom I have known a short period of time.
Now I have left this wonderful world where you all live. Throughout all the years of my life, I have had no beliefs or faith in any religion, or in the leader of the religions in the world. I have never believed in any super power or God. I never learned the teachings of religious people, nor was I ever afraid of these people. I was of the opinion, that religious people have not done great things for mankind. These people have only served their own vested interests.
I have lived a life guided by my own simple ideology. It told me that, all the people living on this planet are equal. We should respect and nurture this Universal brotherhood. I have always tried to revere my elders as well as the younger generation.
If I have made any mistakes or ever injured someone's feelings, I hope you will forgive me. I request that you do not perform any prayers or religious rites or customs upon my death. I would prefer instead, that you all get together to have a celebration of my life. Perhaps have people talk about my memories they have of me, show photos and videos. It would also be nice if everyone could enjoy a nice meal together. This is my last will and testament. Written on 17th day of February, 2005 in Toronto, Canada
Thank you,
Harbans Aujla
