Obituary of John Chanthakad Thammavongsa

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband and father John Thammavongsa. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Sara (nee Tompkins) and adoring son Myles. He will be sadly missed by parents Phouk and Sisouvanh, sister Souvankham, and in-laws Peter & Huguette Tompkins, Ryan Tompkins (Katie). He will forever be remembered by many lifelong friends and his extended family. John spent the first half of his life in Toronto, attended York Memorial before moving on to various jobs where he developed many lifelong friends. He then moved to Windsor in order to start a family. While in Windsor, he became a welder and enjoyed his trade as well as all of his colleagues. John loved cars, cruising in his civic, fishing and watching movies with Myles. John also loved to dance and entertain. He had a big personality and always found a way to make a lasting impression on people. Funeral services will be held at Lotus Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11am, to be followed by onsite cremation ceremony.
