Bhagwandai Victorine (Vicki) Janack, 77, Toronto, Ontario, passed away on Friday, October 7th, 2022
Victorine was born in New Amsterdam, East-Berbice, Guyana to Diaram (Edward) and Chandradai (Irene) Bassit; the 2nd eldest of 10 children. Victorine moved to Alexandria, Ontario in 1966 and then to Toronto in 1987. She built a beautiful life with her husband Ramchand (Lucky). When she moved to Canada, she first continued in her chosen profession as a teacher and then as a Manager with Scotiabank for over 20 years. She had three children, Devina, Sunil, and Anand.
Victorine was warm, intelligent, and vivacious. She sparkled. She loved her friends and family and especially her grandchildren, Serena, Annalise, Rosie, Marek and Mira whom she doted on incessantly. She had a quick wit and loved to laugh.
We know that she is now at peace. She is in the warm embrace of her husband Lucky, son Sunil, brothers, Wilfred, Khemie, and Ronald, sisters, Maureen, and Rosie, and parents, Edward and Irene who will accompany her on her journey.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario:
