Obituary of Violet Madhok
Violet, who also loved to be called “Sheila” by her family and friends, passed away on October 30th, 2022.
Sheila was born in Katni, India on October 28th, 1939 to Hira and Suzan Lall.
Sheila was mother to Neera, Ravi and Rajiv. She raised her children with love and devotion with her husband, Ramesh Madhok. Later she became a loving mother-in-law to Neeti and Ruchi. She was also a loving and proud grandmother to Diya, Leela, Sanvi, Raeya and Rohan. She is survived by her sister, Nirmala Singh.
Sheila, in her adventurous nature, immigrated to Canada in 1968 to work as a nurse at Ottawa General Hospital. Along with Ramesh they moved to Sudbury Ontario in 1970 and then to the heart of Quebec, Saguenay-Lac St. Jean in 1973. Finally, they retired to Milton, Ontario in 2002.
She loved to be surrounded by friends and family. She was at her happiest when she was entertaining at home. She filled her home with delicious food, her welcoming smile and heartfelt laughter. She had a passion for gardening and actively kept her yard full of lush flowers and plants. She was an avid hockey and tennis fan. She also loved to travel with friends.
She will be remembered for her warmth, positive energy, and heart of gold.
