Uncle Rich,
Losing you feels so raw. I can’t put into words how heart broken we all are.
You meant so much to all of us. Living on the east coast made it a little more difficult to see each other as much as we both may of wanted. Despite the distance, it never affected the bond that we all shared.
I remember being a little girl, we would come to Toronto to visit you and you would be standing at the door with open arms. You would always make us feel so at home and you had such a calming presence about you. You loved the outdoors and just enjoyed life to the fullest. There wasn’t anything in this entire world that you loved more then your family. The way you took care of Auntie Julie was the true definition of love.
Thank you for showing this family what true love is. Thank you for teaching us the meaning of loyalty and strength.
You had a heart of gold and there isn’t very many people on this earth like you.
Mark and Stephen, you will forever remain my brothers and I want nothing more then to keep our bonds as strong as it is.
I am so thankful I had the opportunity to introduce my son, Joseph, to you. Our last memory we shared together will forever live on in my heart.

Q: What will you miss most about Richard?
A: Everything!. He was my uncle, my mentor, my father figure. Before Mark and Stephen, I was his little girl. There are so many memories of vacations and just quality family time. I was always treated like his princess.
I remember him always playing Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It". He adored her! And him telling me Whoopy Goldberg was cute! Lol....boy did I have my opinion on that! The first time He ever made me fish.. I sat there with a stick and refused to touch the worm. I remember him making someone else hook it for me! I actually did catch a fish that day!
I am eternally grateful for all the childhood memories. You were one of the people I cherished deeply I will miss you.

We are so saddened by your sudden passing. It’s hard to accept that you are no longer here physically with us.
However we are so grateful that we had the opportunity to meet you and become family. You were always so kind, sweet and loving to Sonny, Mia and myself. You were the father to my best friend and I’ve known you from before high school, a person who was very level headed and quite articulate with his words, a man who could sort out differences between others with love and ease. Always knew how to make people laugh, glad we got to talk more in recent years, you always checked in on me when my father passed away. Your love for boats and for horse racing always kept up in our conversation. Dearest Ritchie, It will take me a while to get over your passing!
"It isn't every day that a girl gets to say she had the BEST big brother in the whole world". You, my dear brother have given us many opportunies to say this because you have shown us so much love, trust, understanding, respect, kindness, warmth, and not forgetting you were a "good listener".
Richard, you and I experienced together the struggles of caring for our spouses. Those struggles were so very real. Man...You did your job and....did you ever do a stellar job!!!! Your commitment in caring for your wife was beyond any man I know!!!!
After the passing of my beautiful husband on December 16, you again proved your Big Brother's love by insisting that we have a private visit on December 18. You gave me that big hug you promised and you insisted on spending time with my daughters. You even brought dinner!! Richard I wonder, did you know you were going to leave so soon????
Thank you Ritchie for coming to sit with me. Your hug means the world to me....that very last hug. Though I am sad you are no longer physically here, I am comforted that you are in a better place because you have been diligent in all that you committed to do. I honour our love! I am saddened to learn of Richard's passing. Our families (Ackloo/Ramsammy/Carpen) were introduced to the Jaglall's by our late cousin, Rick Suebarran, when he moved to Uitvlugt Estate, WCD. Making the family pilgrimage from Berbice to visit our cousin (Wavney & Rick) at Uitvlugt was incomplete without visiting Uncle Bill, the late Aunty Iris and their children at Oceanview.
