Amarnath Binda Obituary
It is with great sadness that we say farewell to the late Amarnath (Amar) Paryag Binda born December 19, 1950 and who left his physical body on August 04, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Kaloutie, his children & their respective spouses Rishe & Devika, Shawn & Sharmilla, Anita & Devin, and his 5 grandchildren - Anaya, Saagar, Dhira, Avani and Santosh, 10 siblings, family members and loving friends.
Amar left his birthplace of Trinidad & Tobago and migrated to Toronto, Canada in 1972. He worked many small jobs, but spent the majority of his career at Algoods Aluminum. Aside from his work, Amar was best known in the Hindu community for his ongoing selfless service until the time of his passing.
He was the founding President of the Devi Mandir which was established in Pickering, Ontario in 1989. He was instrumental in the construction, maintenance and development of the Devi Mandir for over twenty five years and he continued to promote Sanatan Dharma by helping various Mandirs in the GTA including the present day development and upliftment of the Jai Durga Hindu Society in Scarborough, Ontario.
His family & friends will forever remember his kind, generous and loving heart, his devotion to promoting and preserving Hinduism and his many acts of selfless service.
While he is no longer with us physically, his legacy will provide the spark to inspire the next generation of Hindus in Canada.
