“MA” as we fondly address mother in our native language is the short name among all relations know n, yet the most sacred and purest of all, with the greatest impact and influence on us and most fulfilling.
She was no different from any other mother making relentless sacrifices and struggles for the wellbeing of family which meant the world to her.
My mother was 72 yrs. old, born in Ludhiana, Punjab in India. She was 5 days shy of her 73rd birthday when she passed away. Her birthday is tomorrow :( She was a loving wife, married to my father Mr. Jawahar Lal Soni for 53 years. She was a caring mother to her children which includes eldest daughter – Geeta Chopra, 2nd daughter – Neeta Mehan and a son which is me, Vishal Soni.
Never have I, nor will I meet someone as special as my mom. I have never known a woman to be everything to so many people. I have never known a woman so strong, compassionate, full of life, always see the good in people, and put the thoughts and needs of others in front of her own.
My mother believed in us when no one else would. She opened our eyes to the world that we have never dreamed of. She showed us things that we never knew existed. She loved us more than we ever thought possible. She was our source of strength, confidence, motivation, and above all our best friend. She truly was and will always be our everything.
All I want is to talk to her once more and for her to give me a hug and tell me that everything is going to be all right. I wish that she could shield me from the darkness as she always did in my youth. But regretfully she can't do these things anymore.
But she will always live on through the hopes, dreams, accomplishments of myself and my family and because of that: She will always live on in my eyes.
Rest in peace, Ma!
