Obituary of Rajcoomari Samoondree Takoor

Rajcoomari Samoondree Takoor, lovingly known as Anita, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024. Born on February 23, 1942, in Quatres Bornes, Mauritius, she was the cherished daughter of Leeladur Ramdoyal and Luckpateaa Seeruttun. She is remembered fondly by her siblings Giantee, Neela, Devika, and Chand, as well as her late siblings Harry and Vidiah.Anita was a devoted wife to the late Sookdeo Takoor and a beloved mother to Bunty and Nessa. Her role as a grandmother brought immense joy to her life, and she cherished her time with her grandchildren Anshika, Sapna, Shreeya, and Yoshaan.Professionally, Anita served as a dedicated community health care officer and social worker. Her passion for sewing and embroidery was evident in the beautiful clothes she designed for her family. She also delighted in hosting gatherings, known for her exceptional cooking and baking, especially during Diwali, when she would teach her grandchildren the art of making festive treats.A celebration of Anita’s life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Lotus Funeral Home in Etobicoke. Her family invites all who knew her to join in remembering her remarkable life and the lasting impact she had on those around her."
