Obituary of Dhandai Hardowar

Please share a memory of Dhandai to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Better known as Sis was predeceased by her husband Shivprashad Hardowar (Sew). Loving mother to Jairaj and wife Shanie, Rajendra (Baba) and wife Daro, Raj, Dolly and her husband, Richard Naidoo, Leela. Narvin and Nita. Predeceased by son Nero as well as parents Thomas and Mangri  Paul, brothers  William, Sony, and Richard. Sisters Rachel and Basdai Ganpat

As a young woman Dhandai attended  St. Patrick’s Anglican School. During this time she was an active member of the Reliance Vedic Arya Samaj Mandir in Canje, Berbice - Guyana until she moved to Canada in 1990. She was self employed, owning a small business - a “cakeshop” in the mid 60s - thereafter a Liquior Restaurant. She met her future husband, Shivprashad through mutual friends of thier parents (a match was made) and was married  for 78 years.

Dhandai was a wonderful person, generous to a fault, always had a smile, was quick with a laugh, remained a very loving person right to the end -  and she had 16 Grandchildren!

Special Thanks to the staff at Sandalwood Park Long Term Home,  for taking such good care of our mother!
