Obituary of Michael Montgomery

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. He lived life to the fullest, finding joy in fast cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats. He treasured time spent in the Sunshine State, weekly hockey games, and the social gatherings that followed. Michael was also dedicated to his home on the Niagara River, where he spent many happy moments.

A skilled and respected air traffic controller for 35 years, Michael worked in Sudbury, at YYZ (Toronto Pearson International), and at the Toronto Island Airport (Billy Bishop). His career was a reflection of his commitment and professionalism.

Dad had a larger-than-life personality, with a love for good food, the occasional beer, and socializing with friends over the years. He was truly one of a kind, a character who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Sadly, Parkinson's disease took away many of the things Michael loved, but his spirit remained strong. While we mourn his loss, we are comforted knowing he is now in God’s hands.

As Michael always loved a good party, we invite you to join us in celebrating his life and memory at one final gathering. Please join  our family for a celebration on December 15, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at Lotus Funeral and Cremation Centre, 121 Cityview Drive, Toronto, Ontario.
