In Loving Memory of Pushpa
Pushpa was the embodiment of love, care, and attentiveness. She touched so many lives, not only as a devoted friend but also as a deeply dedicated nurse whose kindness and expertise left an immeasurable mark on all who had the privilege to know her.
To me, Pushpa was more than a friend—she was a confidante and a companion during some of the most challenging times. Our daily phone calls were filled with meaningful conversations, laughter, and comfort. I’ll never forget the day we crossed paths at Sunnybrook Hospital. Instead of my cell phone, I’d somehow tucked my home cordless phone into my jacket pocket! When Pushpa saw it, we shared such a hearty laugh—one of those moments that felt like pure joy in the midst of hardship.
We both faced our battles with cancer around the same time, and her resilience was inspiring. Even in her own struggles, Pushpa’s warmth never wavered. Her dedication as a nurse was evident in everything she did; I wouldn’t be surprised if the very nurses who cared for me were once trained by her. That’s the legacy she leaves—one of compassion, strength, and service to others.
While my heart aches at her loss, I find comfort knowing that her suffering has ended, and she is now at peace. I will miss her immensely and will hold onto the cherished memories we shared.
My deepest condolences to Pushpa’s family during this difficult time. May her spirit continue to inspire us, and may you find solace in knowing how much she was loved and appreciated.
