Rabindranauth Karamchand “Danny” Boodhoo was born on October 30, 1960 in Georgetown,
Guyana, to his loving parents commonly known as Babojee and Doris and five siblings, Bunsie,
Dickie, Kamla, Billy, and Cheeketa. Being the youngest in the family, he was often referred to as
the baby. He is the fire of his family, always laughing and brightening everyone’s spirits around
him. His friends and family know him for his generosity, kindness and never-ending hospitality.
Growing up in Guyana, he spent his young days playing cricket, worked on his dad’s estate in
Mahaica and time with his family and school friends. He proudly attended Saints College in
Guyana, and St Thomas University in Miami, where he spent countless nights studying hard,
and being the life of the party at the beach and making friends every where he went.
Years later, Danny met the love of his life, Shanaz in 1986. They were together for 39
memorable years, filled with laughter, dances and lots of love. This past July, they celebrated
their 34 th wedding anniversary.
He and his wife raised two wonderful children, Reshma and Ramesh who are his proud and joy.
He was an incredible and supportive father, ensuring his family had everything they needed,
from cooking delicious meals, to help with homework every night. He always made sure the
weekends were filled with joy and spending time with family and close friends. Danny had a
strong work ethic, always teaching his children to do the right thing, and led by example.
He knew how to have a good time, and enjoying all the joys in life, in every single moment.
Going to the community centre for his swim and sauna, sharing a coffee and muffin with his
wife, and prioritizing family time with his daughter Reshma, son Ramesh and daughter in law
Krystal.
He will forever be loved and missed by everyone who knew him.
