Before you passed, I was holding your hand and you were rubbing your thumb against mine, something you would always do with your own hands as you sit on the couch and watch tv. But at this moment, I felt as if you were comforting me; from the sadness that was yet to come. Grandpa you are the definition of a true fighter. I miss you so much, but I know you’re in a better place now. I know the pain and suffering you were facing and I know this day was coming but there is no way I could have prepared for this feeling.
A week ago, you told me to be brave and I said I would. I promise to stand by my word.
Thank you for loving me as much as you do. I will miss everything about you: your sarcastic humour, your smile and just sitting next to you watching old Bollywood movies and drinking tea.
I know life without you will never be the same, and as much as I want to share so many more memories with you, I know you will be looking down on us with joy and pride.
Rest In Peace, Grandpa. I love you forever.
