Our Dear Rinky and Baba,
We came to know your dear parents in Kanpur , though your father and my husband ,Col Yeole were Bn mates.Pammy, your mum, was a wonderful person and we came to know each other as good friends, ready to help anytime.Closeness developed at Abohar , where situation was extreme… bashas, kuccha homes,no taps and worst no servants!! Pammy feel severe sick and down caste on seeing the state… I sent dabba for the family for 2 days and after that told her to collect her spirits and start cooking and cleaning!! True enough she did it and even took up teaching in Sudarshan Chakra Primary School, where I was the Principal!!
Baba and Rinkie , though much younger than my kids were all good company and very dear to me! God bless them.
One day at Cooch Behar, your papas coy hockey team was playing against uncles coy… in the midst of the game there was some squabble between the teams and both of them were daggers drawn! Pammy held my hand and said ‘bhabs now what will happen’ ,very calming I told her , don’t worry… ranks are worn by our husbands and not us… all will be fine, and sure enough , in the evening we saw both of them walking back home… my husbands arm on Maj.Hasija’s shoulder… lost in their world… Maj.Hasija’s loud , ha ha ha typical laugh!!Dear Pammy feared there would be unpleasantness to be faced!!
Wonderful couple.. extremely loving and caring, such a dependable family! Sorry to have lost them so early. May they rest in peace.

I want to remember Ik uncle today with having the most perfect, honed to perfection, a signature Hasija laugh, it was pure joy to watch and was totally infectious…Deep down He was a true army officer and loved to talk about his escapades in the army with a lot of enthusiasm, he loved to entertain and always went above and beyond in taking care of everyone, he enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a funny comeback to the chatter in the room. I will always cherish the memories I had spending time with both Ik uncle and Pammy aunty in their house wherever they were as they always made it super special for everyone. It takes a special kind of person to go above and beyond and Ik uncle, Pammy aunty, Rinki and Baba are at the top of that list.
Well…Like they say, when you move a vessel to a different place the space within it does not move with it. So keeping that in mind, we will always feel your presence here Ik uncle, in Rinki, Baba, your grand children and the family you built. Rest in peace always. You will be missed!

It was such a great pleasure and honour to have met dear Uncle, IK as he was affectionately known. What struck me most about him was his pleasing personality, confident style, golden voice, sharp wit and great sense of humour. I truly enjoyed spending time with him at the Chinmaya mission ashram and social get-togethers, engaging in fun conversations. He was ever the true soldier, always ready for any challenge and lived life on his own terms. It was sad to see him suffer towards the end, but I am glad he is past it now and has attained everlasting peace and oneness. You will always be cherished in our memories IK Uncle. Maj. Hasija was amongst my closest friends in Utsav, or should I rather say in this world. Our association was only for the last seven years, but the way our love, affection and mutual trust developed, it was as if we were friends for ages. How he helped me during my illness, the good times we spent with him in DSOI, his valuable advices, and many more such things are unforgettable.
His passing away is a personnel loss to me and the vacuum can never be filled.

Dear Jothica ,Prateek and family,
It was such a pleasure to know IK Uncle over the years. His courage and selfless service to the country , love for India was obvious in his stories shared with us. It was always inspiring to see how well he looked after himself and kept his routine until the last few months. He always had a gentle smile and greetings for all of us( certainly a very special one for me ). We know that he was content with his life, lived fully and left this world in peace, no regrets. There will be a big void in your life but his memories will always be alive in your heart. We will miss him.

I can forget the day way back in 2016 when I was serious In the hospital and Mr. Hasija dropped my wife to hospital inspite of his surgery only two days back. I will not forget in rest of my life the gesture he and another friend Mr. Rajesh Plaha showed on that moment.
