Obituary of Jaipaul Naraine
We are deeply saddened to let you know of the unexpected passing of Jaipaul Naraine on February 21, 2024, in Toronto, Canada.
Jai, as he is fondly known, was born in Georgetown, Guyana on April 28, 1940. He was the third son of Deo and Sahodra Naraine; one of thirteen siblings.
He met his wife Deleni in 1960 and they were married in 1963. They have two adult children, a daughter Maltie Claire and a son Jai Paul. His daughter is married to Brad Manuel and they have a son, Matthew.
Four sisters and two brothers survive him along with a large number of nieces and nephews. He was treasured as an honorary grandfather to so many of the youngest of our family.
Jai and Deleni along with their two young children immigrated to Canada in 1969. He worked as an engineering technologist with James F. McLaren for most of his careerand was well respected for his work ethic. His garden was his pride and joy and he became an avid reader after his retirement.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
