Beautiful Lakisha ❤️
We first met over 20 years ago when we both started working in surgery at YCH. Our career paths took us in different directions recently but over the years I would recognize that voice and contagious laugh anywhere. I would
always hold an ONA party ticket for you because I knew how much you really enjoyed the party and always danced the night away. You will be truly missed. I am so honored I was able to get to know you and work with you during your remarkable life.
“Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever. “You will forever be missed and remembered with love beautiful Lakisha
To the family, Sending you strength today and peace in all the days ahead.

This is truly devastating and heartbreaking. To the family and her beloved son—I'm so sorry for your loss. There are no words deep enough to express my heartfelt sympathy and to send you strength as you navigate this journey of loss and grief.
I have such fond memories of working with Lakisha, and she has often been in my thoughts over the years after switching work locations. She was an extraordinary person, and I have always admired her unwavering strength, kindness, and remarkable spirit. The impact she had on so many lives, including mine, is a testament to her beautiful soul.
I feel so blessed to have known her and so fortunate to have been able to visit her in the hospital. Even in her struggles, She was a radiant star who remained positive despite every adversity. Thank you for the precious gift of her friendship. Until we meet again my friend. ❤️

The news of your passing has sadden me. Our connection started on C4, the Surgical Inpatient unit, many years ago. Your level of competency and experience, became very evident early on. You were my ‘go to person’, because I had trust in you and your response. Your hard shell was one to crack, but when one is in, your kindness, compassion for patient care, advocacy and dedication spoke loud and clear. Lakisha, you will be sadly missed. Even after our paths separated from C4, we would still connect from time to time, to sit and have a chat. I enjoyed our discussions, and our time together. I was fortunate enough to visit with you last summer as you were navigating your health. Our time was short, but solid. I will miss our chats and I will miss you. Rest now Lakisha. Your legacy will live on in your son. You will not be forgotten.

My Dear Lakisha,
I've searched hard for the right words, but no words can express the tremendous loss I am feeling. I have cherished our friendship and sisterhood over the many years and will forever remember all the beautiful memories we shared. Your heart was so kind and true and I could always count on you. You will forever hold a place in my heart and even though the special years will not return, I know you'll walk with us forever. I miss you dear friend! May your soul rest in peace until we meet again.

I worked with Lakisha on the Surgery Program for several years. She was a fine nurse and a wonderful colleague. She had a good sense of humour and I can still hear her sweet laugh. My sincere condolences to her son and all her family. May the memories and love you share bring comfort at this very difficult time.

Lakisha was a colleague and friend of mine for over 20 years. She was an amazing, smart nurse. She was my go to whenever I had any questions, I could call her anytime. She was generous and kind, She would always talk about her son and father. I remember driving her to western union often. She would always send money to her dad. She was heartbroken when he passed away. We would often spend breaks together and she would share her food with me or we would go out and have lunches together. My daughter was recently in a horrific accident and even while she was dealing with her own hardships, she would message me every single day to ask how my daughter was. Im so glad I got to spend time with her , especially these last few months, sitting by her side while she received chemo. She loved being photographed, I will cherish the pictures and all of our memories together.

To Lakisha's family and friends
I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Lakisha at Mackenzie Health over the past 11 years. I always appreciated the kindness and warmth that she shared with all of her coworkers and the patients she looked after. She was an exceptional nurse, but more importantly, a really great person.
I hope in the coming days you are able to reflect on some nice memories of her, during this extremely difficult time.

She was one of the smartest people I’ve ever worked with—always knowing the answer to any question and handling every situation with such calm and confidence. As a nurse, she was truly amazing, and as a coworker, she was even better. I’ll miss our weekends together when she was MRN, sharing laughs, ordering food from Caribbean Queen, and just enjoying the little moments.
Rest easy—you’ll always be remembered and missed.

To my dearest Lakisha,
I have an immense amount of love and respect for you as a colleague. I will always remember the first day we met when I started at MRH's General Surgery unit. You were so cool, kind and caring. Your smile, sense of humor, and infectious laugh will forever hold a special place in my heart. We shared countless laughs, kissed our teeth at rude people (lol), and I admired how dedicated you were, especially when you were covering PCC. It was both a pleasure and an honour to work alongside you and care for patients together. I chose these two pictures when we had the ice cream truck at work (you were mad when I posted the picture on IG because you had ice cream on your face, haha!) and our time during COVID with free pizza! I truly hope you are at peace now, because you fought a long battle! You and your family will remain in my thoughts and prayers. Love you Lakish!

There are no words that can express the sadness I feel for the loss of such an amazing woman. She may be gone physically from us, but she’s up above living the life.
The moment I saw you on the same plane as me, en route to St. Lucia, I became more excited to see you than to be going on vacation! Walking and dancing in the rain, lots of laughs, great food and most of all the best company I could ask for! We also cannot forget, me forcing the police officer to pose with us, I thought he was going to arrest me for resting my arm on his shoulder for the “picture perfect” :)
I’m already envisioning your smile and laughter at my stupidity : O
RIP Lakisha you are and will always be a very special person to me for all the years of dedication you put into the lives of others that needed you most. Thank you for being you!
